Dec 09, 2009 · Acrylic cannot be sterilized, so you never know what kinds of germs & bacteria are on the jewelry. As long as you switch the pinchers out with metal jewelry right afterward, you shouldn't have too many issues, but you do not want to try & heal a stretch with acrylic.
