Longer Trail to Mt Washington but an easy hike The jewel trail is located at the base of the cog and I love that you can park your vehicle there to hike up the trail. This year there was a five dollar fee to park my vehicle overnight in the lot.4.5/5(6)

The Jewell Trail is around 3.7 miles in length, where it reaches the Gulfside Trail at 5,400'. The trail itself is not very difficult or steep, and is one of the least rocky trails on the mountain. The hike in the woods is fairly uneventful, however the scenery is very nice.72%(2)

Aug 18, 2012 · The Jewell Trail route up to the summit is a little longer than the route via Ammonoosuc Ravine (5.1 miles (8.2 km) versus 4.5 miles (7.2 km) and 3,900 ft. (1,188 m) versus 3,800 ft. (1,158 m) elevation gain), but if you’ve tried both, I think you’ll agree that the Jewell Trail is easier overall! There are two trailheads for the Jewell Trail.

Feb 12, 2020 · The Jewell Trail is an easier way down and lets out in the same area as the Ammonoosuc Trail at the base of the raliroad. The summit building has a cafeteria and bathrooms. A WMNF parking permit is required for parking in the hikers parking lot. The cog railroad has its own lot.4/5(236)
