Dec 15, 2020 · It has been planned to construct the International Gem and Jewellery Trade Centre in Demuwawatte, Ratnapura by investing National Gem and Jewellery Authority funds to enable sellers and buyers to avail all the services and facilities under one roof such as independent quality testing services, laboratory services and banks and export services as in Bangkok and Hong Kong which are the leading sales centers for Gem and Jewellery sales in Asia.
Gem and Jewellery Research and Training Institute (GJRTI) has been established in July 1995, under Section 25 (1) of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Act. GJRTI is actively engaged in the business of providing Research and training services for the promotion and sustainable development of the Gem and Jewellery Industry.
