We had a great experience on our first Viking trip, Imperial Jewels of China, in early July. The hotel accommodations were first-class and our guide was outstanding. The ship is almost new, very clean, and the ship crew was great. For us one of the trip highlights was the great variety of Chinese food.

As for the river, it is pretty dull east of the Three Gorges Dam, and much more scenic to the west.] If you haven’t been to China and want to see some of the major sights, this 12-day tour (not counting travel to and from China) is a way to do it.4/5(928)

TA wouldn't let me post the following review for Viking River Cruises, so I thought I'd stick it on here for anyone that is interested: We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to China with Viking River Cruises, in October 2014. We were very lucky with the weather & it was hot & sunny for the whole trip. There was bad smog in Beijing a few days before & after we were there, but we had blue skies for the duration of our visit.
